I remember so clearly the time I sang 'itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout...' with all the animated actions and she gave me a big smile and the heartful grin. I loved that little moment, she was just 5 months old then. Zoom ahead a few months later, today she is crawling, exploring the world, and not looking back.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and cheers to scrapping a bunch of your 'little moments'!

Melissa Frances 8 x 8 album kits

We have some adorable Melissa Frances 8 x 8 album kits. (boy and girl themes). Each album kit includes an 8 x 8 album, pattern paper, and matching chipboard, ribbon and fabric stickers.
In my example, I mixed in some Basic Grey Nook and Pantry and Shizen pattern paper. They really go well together and by adding more paper to the mix you have more options to create layers in your pages. All the diecuts and punch shapes are store studio tools. Available to you with purchase of the album kit. (I apologize for the photo orientation, I can't seem to upload it the right way after many attempts).
How about including some Maya Road calendar sheers? it would make a beautiful album to record milestones and celebrations through the year.

Happy Monday
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Here in our neck of the woods we had the perfect sprinkling of snow to make it magical for our traditional Christmas eve walk looking for the bright lights of Santa's sleigh.
Here's a little project I made a while back, it was published in the Scrapbook and News Reviews ezine. It's a message board and I just wanted to give it a mini facelift. I updated the photo of DD and recovered the cork with blue lace paper giving it a little pop of colour. I just use my ATG adhesive to glue the paper to the cork, it sticks well but I can also lift it off when I decide to change it out. I used the Maya Road calendar sheers (love these calendar sheers!!) which is tacked on with a glue dot so that I can easily change out the months.
So now I have no excuses to not be better organized? lol.
Happy New Year, looking forward to a terrific 2010!

Are you ready for the Holidays?
I am getting close because...
It's been a long couple of days and I am so happy to say my 2 albums with Christmas deadlines are finished. My client in his words ' you've far exceeded my expectations- I love it!!' One album was for his son, 28 pages in total...I've never created so many 'boy' pages, - it has definitely s-t-r-e-t-c-hed my thinking a little, can't rely on the 'pretty' elements I am so use to reaching for.
With the deadline over, my mission is to get a little organized before the Holidays. Time to put the scrap stuff away for a wee wee bit (a week for me without scrappin' is like an eternity, LOL).
In the meantime, wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and Holiday season.
One last note, I created a few more onion envelope kits with a Christmas theme. You might have you've seen this project a few times already, (I keep getting requests for these so I'll keep making them until no one asks anymore :). This is a wonderful card or little project to record your memories. They are 2 nestled envelopes with an accordion card on the inside. It can hold many photos . It all fits nicely in a mailing envelope (included in the kit) so you can send it to friends and family.

Nook and Pantry Recipe album kit- new images
Here are images of a new recipe album. The album measures about 5.5 x 5.5 in size. It features Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry collection, has 10 chipboard pages, and will hold a ton of recipes...look how large the binder rings are! The Artys.licious chocolate album is gorgeous, I keep running my hands over the flocked cover, very velvet-y and soft. I created a few recipe titles like 'Main Dishes, Side dishes, and other little phrases to go with the Basic Grey element stickers.
I spritzed the pages with Maya Road copper metallic mist just to give the pages a hint of a copper sheen. I hold the spritzer far away so that the coverage is very light. If you spritz too close you'll get a big 'splat'.
I created the mini-album to open like a book (right to left). Another alternative is to have the pages flip up bottom to top and the album could stand on it's own. (sorry..the photo show the page sideways but you know what I mean:) Also, look how cute the album looks hanging on the Artsy.licious album stand (again, the album would be created with the pages upright, ie the holes at the top)

Thank you to all the ladies who came out to play yesterday in my recipe album workshop. It was sold out and I've had a few requests to purchase extra kits but I don't have any left..boo hoo. I hate to disappoint...so upon taking a quick walk-thru the store for supplies, I have enough supplies to create a new recipe book kit, woo hoo!!

Bloggin' downtime

It's been a whirlwind time for our family in the last couple of weeks. We've just returned from a wonderful trip to China and it's so good to be home- albeit slightly jet lagged-now I know why they call it 'jet lag' (emphasis on the lag...you sort of hit a wall a few days later). I'm going to be a tad quiet posting to this blog for the next week or so. I have a couple of client albums that I am working on which need to be finished before the holidays.
Thank you to everyone who drops by this blog, I look forward to posting soon with some new projects.
p.s- we still have room in the following classes this weekend:
Saturday Dec 12, 11 am to 1 pm- Colouring with Copics with Mary. 11am to 1pm
Saturday Dec 12, 2 pm to 4 pm- Basic Grey cards Eskimo Kisses with Mary.
Sunday Dec 13, 1 to 3 pm- Basic Grey Tabbed recipe book with Virginia

Decorated mini composition books
Here's a little project to use up your paper and embellishments stash. Decorate little mini composition books and they make terrific thank you gifts or stocking stuffers. Make some for your scrapper pals and they can keep them in their scrap totes. I used a cropadile (love this tool!) to punch a hole through the books (you have to punch them in layers) so that you could slip a binder ring so the books can hang from your scrap tote.

Hero Arts tags
Here are a couple of simple little tags I made using Hero Arts Stamps. The doll and angel in the Hero Arts Holiday release are adorable. The angel and doll were coloured with Copic markers and then I used Ranger's blending foam and ink for a blended finish. I finished the doll's dress with Ranger's distress stickles for a bit of candy shimmer. The grid background is a journal stamp from Autumn Leaves.

Quickie tags

The moment I saw these chipboard shapes from My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas collection CUTE immediately came to mind. There are 19 large shapes and a whole bunch of tiny ones.
Use them to make instant cards and tags. I have to leave the house a certain time to do school pickup so I literally had 15 minutes to complete these little tags. Easy-peazy-lemon-squeezy I say! I didn't over think it, I used simple silver string and some sequins for a little bling. Package them up and you have an instant 'lil thank you gifts.
